Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in India, attracting millions of devotees annually. Situated in the Trikuta Mountains near Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi, a manifestation of the combined energies of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.

Temple Overview

• Location: Katra, Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, India.

• Elevation: Approximately 5,200 feet (1,585 meters) above sea level.

• Main Deity: Goddess Vaishno Devi, represented in the form of three natural rock formations known as “Pindies,” symbolizing Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.

• Pilgrimage Route: The journey to the temple involves a 13 km trek from the base camp at Katra to the Bhawan (main shrine). Pilgrims can choose to walk or avail themselves of various services like ponies, palanquins, and battery-operated vehicles. Helicopter services are also available from Katra to Sanjichhat, followed by a short trek to the Bhawan

• Day 1 –  Depart from Delhi night via train or private vehicle to Jammu. The journey typically takes around 10-12 hours by train.

• Day 2 – After Breakfast, Firstly visit Baan Ganga and then start the trek Mata Vaishno devi temple, distance approximately 12km ( 6 to 8 hours on foot). night stay in bhawan.

• Day 3 – Early morning, will come down back for temple and will go to the hotel and go to the station.
